AA Insurance Outdoor Celebrations Advice

Published: 10/06/08

A recent study by AA Insurance has found that many people could find the property in their gardens is not covered by their current insurance policy.

With more and more people using their gardens as part of their living space the total value of property kept in these gardens is estimated to be in the region of over GBP 5.5 billion. However almost twenty-five percent of people say that their garden furniture and property is not insured.

With Bonfire night just out of the way plus Christmas and New Year on the horizon there are sure to be lots of fireworks exploding in gardens up and down the country. Accidents do happen too and it is thought that there will be in the region of GBP800 million worth of uninsured property damaged.

The simple advice from AA Insurance is to firstly check the policy document to see what is covered. The garden shed and its contents are usually the main item, but check also for garden furniture, plants and also third party liability, if someone is hurt in your garden.
