Consider Home Contents Insurance At Christmas Advise Direct Line

With all the extra items in the home at Christmas Direct Line suggest it may be the best time for people to consider the home contents cover they have.

Like some other insurers Direct Line are increasing the value of insurance cover over the festive period, adding upto GBP5,000 or 10 percent of the insured value. This is in acknowledgement that we all have many more items of value in the home at Christmas. It is also a great time for opportunist thieves so if items can be kept out of sight so much the better.

A further suggestion from Direct Line was that people should check that items worth over GBP1,500 are noted individually on their policies. Otherwise they may find they cannot claim the full value of the item back which would be a terrible shame.
