Published: 12/10/08

Although many housing association tenants find themselves somewhat adrift from the financial mainstream Zurich Insurance are addressing the issue by offering home contents insurance specifically for them.

The contents insurance will be provided directly to housing associations and local authorities, who can then offer and manage the insurance offered themselves. Zurich Insurance has found an unwillingness to take up home insurance offers previously so are hoping this new approach will work for their target audience.

Many discussions were held between Zurich Insurance and the people involved in this area of the market, helping a suitable product be created that suits the needs of the customer. In this instance premiums are worked out on the number of bedrooms and payments can be made weekly to help cashflow.
